Whether the closure of the country borders will give rise to conflict situations, the fact remains that not all the tourists agree with the option of postponing a vacation or changing the direction of rest?
“In case the Federal Agency for Tourism will declare that the only option is to exchange a ticket for another direction and for other dates, experience has proven that to recover money in court will be problematic”, says Aida Sabirzyanova, senior associate in Yalilov & Partners Law Firm. “Of course, it is possible, but hard to secure judgement. Previously, the travel agencies either offered vouchers or refunded money. In case of any stalemate situation a tourist could seek legal redress as the Federal Consumer Protection Act is available. It allows terminating the contract with a travel agency without any penalties and refunding your money. But the whole problem comes down to the official interpretation presented by the Federal Tourism Agency: in this instance the court judgement will be quick. Otherwise, the trial might be delayed.
